+140 If Bush got 8 years to ruin America then Obama gets 8 years to fix it... amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Too bad he isn't fixing anything

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

because he's just ruining everything.. oh, like our nice health insurance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Obama cannot fix what he has ruined, just look at the ad a that spoofed the Reagen ad. Its SO true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh yes, as if the country had a record surplus from Bush that Obama turned into a record deficit in two years. Bill Clinton left the country with a record surplus, that Bush took 8 years to turn into a record deficit. If someone who knew what was going on didn't step in, we could have been faced with a second Great Depression. Trying to fix the economy would be like stopping a truck hurtling downhill through your own strength alone, then pushing it back up the steep hill. Obama's still trying to stop the truck, and everyone seems to expect it to be back up the hill by now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

obama is trying to "stop the truck" by spending more money.all hes doing is just pushing it farther down.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@646010 (ThomasFlournoy): gotta spend money to make money

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not true.when the country is in debt, why would the government keep spending? it doesnt make any sense.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Are you joking? That's basic Kenysian economics, aka what economics has been based on for the last 80 years. If you don't know what the Hell you're talking about, don't say anything.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yea and our economy has been so great over the last 80 years... 1930s, 1970s, now...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

FDR was the first president to use kenysian economics, so the Great Depression isn't included because different economics were used before the crash. If you peg the end of the great depression at 1940, then there has only been two serious recessions in the 70 years where it's been used. I say that's pretty damn good.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Example of this: as soon as Bush became president then gas prices went up. This isn't completely his fault but he has a whole lot to do with it. I also hate it how people say Obama isn't doing anything. Well wtf would you do if Bush screwed us over this much?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

he was supposed to bring us change. the only change i've seen is my parents taxes going up, the school system going down, and my mom losing her job. i said it before the election and i'll say it not, he can keep the change.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Taxes this year were the lowest since the 1950's. The biggest tax cut of all time was included in the stimulus bill. So no, your taxes didn't go up. My dad lost his job too, but I don't blame Obama for that because the economy crashed before he became president, so how in the Hell is he responsibe? The great depression lasted 10 years, and the economy is growing again already.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ps i meant now

by Anonymous 13 years ago

obama is a socialist. He withholds important info from the public (ie accurate bp well leakage facts) in order to protect the image of his government. fail

by Anonymous 13 years ago

BP is the one refusing to reveal the true numbers. They are fined based upon how much oil leaked into the Gulf of Mexico, so it only makes sense for them to pretend the oil spill wasn't nearly as bad as it was.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Obama is exacerbating the debt problem, impairing our national power on the world stage, will increase financial problems in all classes, his administration can't tell its ass from its elbow in international relations, doesn't listen to the frustration of Americans but instead throws more speeches at us, and hasn't fulfilled his promise of transparent government. His staff and appointments are jumping ship like the rats they are, and Democrat candidates aren't even mentioning him in their campaigns. We need him out. That's not to say Bush was great. That's to say that Obama and current/proposed Democrat policies/initiatives aren't the solution.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cool how you just made a bunch of claims without any specific evidence or examples to back them up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I also find it humorous/appalling that he appeals to youth so much. Most youth and those in college are not financially independent. Once most start living on their own, and see how Obama's policies will make the upcoming inflation even worse, they might get a grip on reality. But for far too many, it's easy to buy into and pedal propganda when it's not their money at stake.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What are you talking about? There was deflation last year and it's on track to be deflation again this year. Once again you just made a bunch of smart-sounding claims that have no substance to them. 99% of economists agree with Democratic positions on the economy (that figure isn't a hyperbole, it's literally almost every single economist).

by Anonymous 13 years ago

To bad he hasn't done anything in the two years he's been here

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Too bad you're talking out of your asshole. Obama's done a shitload of stuff as President and I'm sorry you're too partisan and biased to see it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

rome wasn't built in a day, but it sure went down faster than it was built

by Anonymous 13 years ago

too bad presidents are only elected for 4 years at a time... who knows if he'll even be re-elected.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Polls are showing that a majority of polled American citizens will be voting for the Republicans. He could be out as soon as mid-term elections.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

More recent polls show that it will be a close overall race with republicans just barely getting the house and dems still holding the senate. This is mainly because of the tea partiers, whose candidates are so far to the right that they're border line unelectable.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I HIGHLY doubt that fucking liar will be re-elected.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I HIGHLY doubt that you know anything about politics.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why is it always Democrats who say ridiculusly unfair and exaggerated "facts" about politics?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think this post sounds ignorant. Ignorance isn't the same as stupidity so don't think I'm calling the poster stupid or anything, but seriously? Bush had to make a lot of important decisions that many other presidents didn't have to face. Yeah he did some stupid things and yeah obama is doing good things doesn't mean that bush is the whole reason for all our country's past issues. Look back in history and you'll find that most government's high economic periods were followed with an economic deppression or downfall. I really do hope Obama does good for our country but it's only been two years. Time will tell.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Obama hasn't done anything yet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not true. he's passed his ridiculous healthcare bill and has allowed millions of illegal immigrants to come into america and stay and get on welfare and vote and get licenses and stuff. *among other bad things*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Since when is allowing humans to live in a country made by humans for humans, a bad thing?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Since my taxes went up to pay for the illegal lazy asses to be here.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Taxes last year were the lowest since the 1950's and the largest tax cut in American history was included in the stimulus bill. You're an idiot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im actually quite sure they're NOT lazy asses. they come here looking for jobs that pay next to nothing just to feed their families and work 12 hour days. they're actually taking jobs that no other american would ever dream of doing (laziness i guess. ironic, huh?). im not for illegal immigration, but it just annoys me when people like you think they come here just so they can ruin our economy when they're only deperate for a better life.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

SO wait.. Paying a little money to help the less fortunate is a bad thing? im so confused.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and im pretty sure you have to be an actual citizen to vote. and get a license. i dont know, maybe the laws were rewritten since i last checked them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

they lie. the government lets them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how is the government democratic if it's only democrats, only on point of view when there are many other points of view. What's wrong with disagreeing on things? You diagree with republicans ad much as they disagree with you. I don't care if you think you're right and they're wrong, it all opinion. And no, not all republicans are psycho crazy conservatives, everyone is capable of being open minded, you just have to let them before you judge them.
