+166 It's weird when a price ends in a fraction. For example, gas prices that end in nine-tenths: I'm pretty sure I can't cut this penny/cent into 10 pieces and have it withhold its value, so buying exactly one gallon of gas must be impossible, amirite?

There's a really cool mathematical thing called rounding!

You wouldn't be paying for EXACTLY one gallon of gas then, would you?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's so it looks like you're paying a penny cheaper per gallon than you really are.

Haha, I know. I do my research before I post. It also has to do with the Great Depression. It still just strikes me as an odd thing to do.

Is there anything else besides gas that is fractionally priced?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wat. Why did I make such a stupid post.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because you're a stupid person.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha, I guess I was just asking for that one.

The .009 is for the tax of gasoline.
