+648 It's strange how the word "refrigerator" is spelled with no d in it, but the shortened version, "fridge", does have a d, amirite?

ahh this is because when they were first invented they were called fridgid airs and the nickname 'fridge' stuck even after they changed them to be called refrigerators :) the things you learn.
