For a few months I've been exclusively saying "poh-tah-toe" and "toe-mah-toe". It never fails to make people laugh, especially employees at Subway.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I work at Subway, and there's this one kind of regular customer that says it, and it annoys us all sooo much. But one day another customer came in behind him, and made fun of him for it while ordering, sooo awesome xD

I've heard people who pronounce the s in basil as an s, and some say it as a z, what anon means it that some people say it bay-zil and some say it baz-il

Here in New Zealand it's to-mah-toe. I used to think my cousin from the USA was really weird for saying it "to-may-toe". I think it's just Americans and Canadians that say to-may-toe.

In South Africa we say to-mah-to.
