What about those who are born into poverty? Why can't we just help people who are struggling to eat? Our country's not that bad, but what about people in other countries? There's a thing called caring. When you care about other people, you don't care how they got in the situation they're at, you just help them. People don't care enough about the people around them.

@693762 (fangirl12): But here's the thing: I am in no way against helping those who are less fortunate than I am. But I should have the choice, and so should you. When you compare helping the poor to the money that goes into wars, then you're talking about taxes... Which takes away my choice.

I know, but did I choose to go to war? I'm against taxing the rich and giving to the poor, just because those people happen to be rich, but I still think it would be better to invest money in people who need it rather than in wars.

@697556 (fangirl12): I know that this does not apply to all cases, but war is intended to be for the good of the people, and to hold on to freedom. Taking from the rich, who in most cases work hard and earn their money, to give it to the poor, who in most cases are simply lazy and/or have made bad choices, is not for the good of the people.

Here's the thing: When I clicked YYA I wasn't thinking about taxes. I was thinking about how I'd rather give my money to poor people. No matter what they've done to make themselves poor, I'd rather give my money to people who need it instead of killing people.

Sometimes war is necessary to hold onto freedom. And yeah, the poor who are actually trying to support themselves should be helped, but the lazy ones who just don't want to get a job deserve no sympathy.
