+388 Even if you don't like math, at least it's more useful than "Classic Literature of the 1600s", amirite?

At least I'd rather learn about it.

Yeah, but I'd get a better mark in the lit class.

I dunno, literature teaches you about people's culture and beliefs. It also helps you better your reading and writing skills which are extremely useful. Plus, I've always found it more useful to understand people and what they came from rather than finding asymptotes and holes in a graph. But that's just me.

Honestly, beyond basic level math...mathematics is useless for the average person.

So true. Honestly, if I'm not planning to do anything math-related when I get to university, why do i need to know the derivative of an exponential function...how is that ever going to help me in life? math sucks =P

I'm positive that I will never, ever need to find the circumference of a basketball, the sine of anything, or what time two trains will pass each other.

Well math teaches us to perceive and digest thought, and lit helps us express and illiterate thought

Actually, literature helps people understand others as well as themselves, so from an emotional/social point of view, Lit is more useful.
