+512 It's really weird how we say "500 people died" so simply, but each of that one person had their own life. They had 80 plus years to live. They could have continued their family history. But, they died! We should really be thankful that we are alive, amirite?

Ive heard a saying something along the lines of: "When one person dies, it's a tragedy. When one-hundred people die, it's a statistic." Sad

Yeah it was Joseph Stalin, but Marilyn Manson had it in the song "Fight Song" so maybe that's where you heard it?

Strangely enough, people would be inclined to feel more if 500 animals died.

I always think the exact same thing !

I'm glad I'm not the only one! :D it's something to think about, amirite?

That's why I could never kill someone. Thats a life that was years in the making, and you just trashed all of that.

I agree with most of this, but not the last sentence.

Just like in the movie Remeber Me, people called it offensive because it was about 9/11,but I found it inspiring. It shows that every single one of the People who died had a family and a life and a story. We cannot forget that individuals died, not just a mass of people. They had lives too.RIP 9/11 victims
