Really? She tends to keep fighting while talking and if she does stop, it's generally only for a second.

I've seen every single episode. Most of the time, she yanks back her stake and pauses, says something witty, and then continues to fight.

I've seen them all as well. It usually only takes 6 seconds top for the witty line, and she's still on her guard while she says them. If any villain tried to hit her, she'd still be able to react as quickly as usual. Plus, she usually does this after she stuns/incapacitates/ knocks back the monster/ evildoer.
