have you heard of MAD... without nukes the Brits have the best Navy on the planet and the SAS. Not to mention that the average British infantryman is better trained than the best us marines. Also the Brits have more allies... try having the States fight the Indians or Aussies off...

All over the place... retired generals and admirals mostly. Canadian, American and Brits. (I work with the daughter of the former Admiral of the Canadian fleet in the Pacific Ocean.)

You will be surprised... the post said America declares war on britain, that means they are the agressor, they have to have good caucas balli, or they will lose support quickly. You will be surprised how much stronger British Nationalism is than American Patriotism... The brits are proud and they will not stop fighting, the americans are too divided among red/blue lines and other issues. As I said, Allies will play a key role, If america declared war on Britain, they will have very litte support from the EU and none from anyone else, I doubt that even canada would support them. Nukes are not the only WMD in play, Countries like canada have instead put their research into biological weapons that can target certain groups of people, keeping their own safe. And there are chemical WMDs as well. For those reasons america will lose this war.

If America just randomly declared war on Britain, a lot of countries would emphasize with Britain and they'd get a buttload of allies in which case they'd win. If we look away from allies America would win though.

If it was a straight fight between the two countries it would be a tough call. Although America has more manpower, their soldiers are not as well trained as those of Britain, also Britian has the S.A.S, which are undoubtedly the best special forces in the world (althought the SEALs come a very close second) : http://listverse.com/2010/01/11/top-10-badasses-of-the-worlds-special-forces America probalby would win, but that is only due to the fact that they outnumber the British quite considerably. If it was a battle of equal numbers, Britain would win hands down.
