i am not sure what you are trying to get at so I'm gonna guess you are taking the piss out of saying night is dark. Some nights are lighter, due to moonlight or even street lights. So yes, calling it a dark night emphasises no light

Truetrue.:) And hahaha. I wouldn't get pissed for realizing that! In general though, having a dark night shouldn't add too much to the scariness of the story since nights are usually pretty dark anyways.
