+396 Instead of having a president which half of America loves and the other half hates (i.e. Bush or Obama) we should have a moderate, independant president that we can all live with, amirite?

I would like to apologize in advance to the grammar Nazis; I noticed the mistake and could not edit it because I am on the mobile site.

There are actually two mistakes in your post.

Doesn't that kind of ruin the point of democracy? And half of America would still hate that person, trust me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ya they'd hit him/her but how would that ruin democracy?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

OP made it sound like the president would just be chosen, not elected.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, I interpreted it as people compromising and choosing such a president.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think that would just end up in everyone hating them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, if there was a moderate president then conservatives would hate him/her for their liberal policies and liberals would hate him/her for their conservative policies. America is, unfortunately, not in the mood for compromises right now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Alrighty, I nominate YOU to choose the next president who EVERY SINGLE PERSON will love.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I realize that not everyone can love the president. I just think that since about half of Americans are liberal and half are conservative, a moderate president would represent America as a whole better than someone radical.

Majority is still in favour of Obama, so. I'm happy with him, thank you. From outside America, it looks like he's doing a good job.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Actually, his approval ratings are in the mid-40's. And not to be rude, but if you don't live in America it doesn't really matter if you're happy with him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ORRR.... we'd end up with a President that everyone hated for being so moderate.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not saying that it matters to me. I'm just giving you an outsiders opinion. Majority voted him in, if you don't like him now, you still gotta stick with him until the next election, so be happy with what you've got. As an outsider, it looks like he's doing a damn good job compared to Bush. Just saying.

Instead of having a president that only half of Americans love, we would have one that most Americans hate.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

a lot of ppl (myself included) wouldnt be happy with that

Seems like a subliminal message to root for an independent. which seems highly unlike they'd win anything

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not really sublimenal. I think that people should give more thought to voting for independets since neither major party has done particularly well. But I agree that independents have little chance.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You would still find heaps of people that wouldn't be happy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's a total fantasy, because i dont think that's ever going to happen..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sure, that's ideal, but why don't you find someone like that to run. And like someone above said, people would still hate them.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Even if that were to happen, there would always be that ONE person who can't stand him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The problem here isn't completely the president, he could be awful or wonderful and people would still hate him. The problem is people who just want to blame someone for everything. "Loads of people are unemployed? What the hell? Damn you Obama!" "People are fighting eachother over religious differences in other countries? Damn you,Obama!" "I just dropped my ice cream cone on the ground? DAAAAAAAAMN YOU OBAMAAAAAAAAAAA!"
