They never specified "take one piece of candy" so I just might as take the whole bowl because there is only "one" bowl of candy.

Exactly. If you hate it, don't take any, and if it's the best candy in the world, take the whole bowl. It's pretty simple, actually.

I used to skip the houses that just handed out lollipops..cause then I wouldn't have 300 lollipops sitting around my house for 6 months, and the kids who like them could have them.
