+310 Why is it so difficult to report and cancel a stolen/lost debit card? How are you supposed to know the last 8 digits if it's not in your possession? amirite?

Good reason to memorize your card number.

(also+anonymous): I have 3 cards. I can't be memorizing them all :p

Oh poor poor baby. What a hard life having to memorize 3 credit card numbers. Wish I had that problem, or a credit card.

That is a lot of numbers to memorize actually! I always mess up my SSN.

If you don't know that, they ask "well what's your account number?" "The FIFTEEN digit number?" Fffffffffffuuuuuuu

I like it alot. Keeps these stolen credit cards lasting longer for me

Usually if you dont know they ask for you SSN# and a series of security questions (such as dob, mothers maiden name, address, and phone #) to prove your identity. And if you go to the bank directly you can just give ID to prove identity :) I've had to report such things a few times; apparently i know quite a few secret theives...wish i could find out who they are!

Yeah, they told me I could go to the bank, but it was past 5pm so they were closed. And they wouldn't take my SSN. I was like, seriously? Like how many other people would have that?

why would you not memorize something that important. or write it down at least.

. You don't usually plan on losing credit cards lol.

Expect the unexpected.

Security questions, or look at your statement online. Duh. It's not difficult. They don't ask you for the account number if the card is obviously not in your possession. I've lost my cards like 3 times (drunk. Ha).

Security questions didn't work for me. They wanted some kind of transaction and at the time I wasn't on the computer, or I would have just reported it online. And they DO ask you for the acct number, or part of it. It's crazy. I guess it's different for different companies.

You're supposed to have all the numbers written down and kept with important paperwork if something like this were to happen.

I just have my card memorized from online banking
