+171 There's no need for animal testing when we have pedophiles in prison, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Pedophiles are still human. I don't think it's fair to treat any human as if they were something less than what they actually are.

I don't think it's fair that they put innocent children through years of trauma because they couldnt control themselves.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yes, but do we really want to stoop to their level? They treated humans inhumanely, and we demonize them for that. Why should we do the same to them?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think if we were gonna do that, the criminal should consent and maybe get some kind of endowment. I'd rather test on people you can ask if they're ok with it, you can't ask an animal plus an animal would have no idea what what going on and it might traumatize them.

Animals should always be the first resort for testing on living creatures. If you're continuing to human testing as all legal drugs do before release, then in some situations it would make sense to use criminals who've committed serious crimes rather than volunteers, though.

I genuinely find it disturbing that this is in the positives.

There's a difference between a pedophile, and a murderer on death row. If the person is already on death row, go ahead. But if that person will keep living, there is no reason that they should be killed.

"Hey, we're gonna be testing some shampoo products on you..." "NOOOO!! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'LL DIE BALD! WHAT A CRUEL FATE.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think the person should agree give consent, rather than be forced.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It would be preferable if potentially harmful products were not tested on any non-consenting living being.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I disagree. Let's say a 20 year old teacher has sex with a consenting 17 year old in highschool. If they waited one more year it would be legal, but if found out, the teacher would be labeled as a sexual predator. I'm not saying "sexual predators are all good people". I'm just saying that they are people. And they deserve a fair hearing and basic human rights.

Who becomes a teacher that young?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

People right out of school! Most teach younger kids but it's possible!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Oh I guess I just thought it took longer than two years to become a high school teacher, but hey there are always teaching assistants that are in school and whatnot. Fun fact: The age of consent where I live is 17.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Its 16 here, but there's weird laws about it. Like you can be 16 and 16 but not 16 and 20.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Oh for me it's 21 and 14 to be rape. I don't know about the sexual predator thing though.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yes, but what benefit would that bring? It does not help the pedophile understand his illness or get treated.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yessss.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Im strangely ok with this

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Testing on animals has never had any benefit to finding out if something will affect a human. Look it up.
