I think it is a hyperbole. Of course they still do, it is kinda seen though, whereas those that seem totally fine shock those around them.

Well,You see theo, The kids who hide their emotions do so because they know if they act like something is wrong, and all emo, then they know that people will try to stop them from suicide. And if some one is trully depressed, they dont want people to stop them because they are that determined. As for emo children, they take a different approach. They are either trying to express themselves because they are confussed and don't know who they are yet OR haven't been totally loved as a child and thriving for attention That's my theory.

(Bill Cosby, Bitches!): Well, I think your theory is incorrect, as Im pretty much an emo kid, but I definitely was loved a lot as a child, and although I may not be entirely sure of who I am yet, I know that I like to express my self and stand out, so that and my music tastes led me to this style. But I do agree with the rest of your post, hardly any "emos" are actually suicidal, it's the quiet ones

why does everyone think that emo kids show the world their problems? the ones who do that are the ones who are after attention. lots of emo people are the ones who act like life is good enough and you'd never expect that under their long sleeves their arms are all slashed up.
