+234 Everyone's up in arms about what a minority of people who happened to be muslim did on 9/11 but why not about what a minority of the AMERICAN soldiers have done/are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Are you joking? Any more patriotism and America will collapse upon itself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What do you want us to do? Parade around shouting "I hate America!"?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, but too much nationalism will only cause more tension and war. The government did a great job at giving people the idea that all Muslims are terrorists. Remember the complaints about the Mosque being built near ground zero? That kind of thing would only happen in America.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

exactly! London has had plenty of terrorist bombings but do you see the english revolting against mosques?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dude, muslims are a problem. You can not deny that. But you can say that not all muslims are a problem, because that is fact as well. you should just go back to your hippy drum circles because we were attacked, and we initiated in the timeless event of war. Just because you don't like war, doesn't mean it will stop. No matter what you, or anyone else for that matter, does, there will always be war. It's a fact of human dominance in nature

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A little strong there, but you make a nice point.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Any civilized nation can prevent itself from going to war. We as a people have the right to protest war. Maybe you think differently, but that's fine. You're not invited to our hippie drum circle anyway.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you may have the right to protest war, but is protesting really helping? no. that's why i think people comapaigning for world peace are stupid. there will NEVER be world peace as long as people's opinions differ. and they always will. no one can prevent war. not even the most peaceful of people, because they will ultimately be walked all over, and forced to fight back.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A high enough anti-war sentiment yields anti-war politicians. So yes, it does help. I'm not saying we'll bring on world peace, but we can at least prevent the most pointless wars from happening. Stop thinking that war is inevitable. The more we indulge this sick thought, the more we justify it. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, not a undeniable truth.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

my point being that war is ultimately inevitable. the only way to prevent ALL war is to eliminate everyone in this world who is for it, which just isn't possible. sure, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy, but it's also something that will happen no matter what because there will always be evil people in this world.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

there will always be war, because there will always be people wth a correct and good plan and idea and there will always be stupid people with a different plan. Each time which side is which is different. But wars, despite the damage and destruction they cause, are often times a good thing. They establish a chain of command of sorts. They also decide who gets what. Its natural. In nature, animals often fight, esp pack animals, to decide who's in charge.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Animals also practice incest and eat their young. I guess I thought we were on a slightly higher level of thinking than animals. Obviously I was mistaken.

Christian terrorists exist too, you know. Oklahoma City Bombings. The Nazis were Christian...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Agreed they let in crazy people who fire on civilians, but they won't let someone like me in who wants to serve but has a strange skin condition.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeahhh, any nation can prevent itself from going to war. Like if we don't retaliate to attacks within our borders...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The war in Iraq had nothing to do with an attack on America js.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

... what???

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Iraq did not attack America...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

stfu wtf go back too iraq with the rest of u towel heads

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well I thought that there was evidence that linked Saddam Hussein's money to the terrorist group that was prooved to be the one responsible for 9/11. And also he was already kind of being shady. But I guess I could be wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah that was unjustifiable speculation. But America thought Iraq had WMD (they didn't) so they invaded to search for them. Sadam was an evil evil man, but there was no evidance that he was going to attack America.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's known that the U.S just loves to manufacture false evidence for a higher purpose than what they tell the people. WMD's? No. Oil? Yes. Terrorists? If you invade any country unwelcomed, expect people to rebel and want you OUT. Those are not terrorists and people shouldn't cry over troops who are taught to kill if they were to die.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Are you referring to the alleged tortures and murders of captured enemies and civilians?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The 9/11 bombers did what they did for no reason, whereas American (and British) troops are trying to do what's best and stop them from destroying the world.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sorry, but I dont think any CIVILIANS who have lost their home and family, and are always in fear of what a soldier might do to them will go on destroying the world...
