Next feminists are going to complain that it's not fair to have the husbands last name, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Interesting fact:Women have a choice in that matter.
by Anonymous13 years ago
yes i kinda realized that but for the most part its traditional to take the husbands name
by Anonymous13 years ago
But there's no need for a couple to continue a tradition if it's not what both of them want.
Couples can decide for themselves if they want to hypenate, keep their own last names, take the males last name, or take the females last name.

I know, just because it's traditional to take your husbands name doesn't mean he's more important.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Great, and just because women don't want their husband's last name, doesn't mean they're being picky about it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
We do have a choice . And I'm glad cause if my husbands last name is gilbert....we are definitely changing that .
by Anonymous13 years ago
Turtletakeover Gilbert. I quite like that. Why would you want to change it?
by Anonymous13 years ago
HHahahahahahahaaha (: thats cute (: nahh , I'm just nt fond of that name . It sounds weird to me (:
by Anonymous13 years ago
Feminists have been complaining about that since the 1800s. You don't understand feminism do you?
by Anonymous13 years ago
apparently not 'fEMMAnist'
by Anonymous13 years ago
Clever isn't it? :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
Me and my sisters made a pact, we're not taking our husbands name. We're keeping our own. We are not feminists though.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Is it FOR NARNIA!?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yes, yes it is. :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
You know, being a feminist means wanting equal rights for men and women. Are you seriously against that?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Well, no. But in the sense that the post it talking about, yeah.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Geezus. You don't have to be a feminist to believe that.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Eh, been there, done that.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Feminists don't want to be better than anyone, they simply want equal social and economical rights in society. I used to think that it was a bunch off bullshit until I took a class on women's studies. College is a wonderful thing, use it.

My neighbor actually didn't take her husband's last name. It's a choice.
by Anonymous13 years ago
One of my friends lives in Chile and they always keep their last name and add on their spouses. She found it odd that we give up our last name.
by Anonymous13 years ago
If you keep your last name and add your spouses and your child does that too and so does your grandchild they'll eventually end up with a ridiculously long name.
by Anonymous13 years ago
No...when you get married you keep one of your last names, not both.(most often times the fathers last name, but you pick which one. )
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh okay. That makes more sense. I like that tradition.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah I thought it was kinda cool. I'm moving to Chile(maybe) in a few years and That's what I want to do if I get married
by Anonymous13 years ago
My mum kept her last name, and I'm probably going to do the same. It doesn't really have anything to do with the fact I'm a feminist, I just think it's a silly tradition.
