+252 Welfare isn't for lazy people who don't want to get a job, it's for people who are physically incapable of getting a job, amirite?

Lazy people do get welfare.

Yeah they do. They shouldn't but they do.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Some. And some people on welfare really need it.

I know, that's what welfare is for, peoe who can't work. It ticks me off how lazy people don't get jobs and just live off of welfare.

Yeah, but I think the majority of people actually do need it. It's like: people steal shit out of Walmart all the time, while other people actually go there and pay for the items they want. Should they shut down the Walmart because a few assholes take advantage? How fair is that to all those that don't.

When did I say they should shut down welfare? I just think they should quit giving money to lazy people.

In my country they give you welfare but you must go on regular job interviews or proof you are looking for a job, otherwise it's taken off you.

That's how unemployment works where I am. Welfare is for disabled people and unemployment is SUPPOSED to be for those who are looking, but can't find a job. A lot of people cheat the system though.

Actually, "welfare" is a really broad term that encompasses a myriad of programs. Someone who is incapable of working receives social security. Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF) is for families who are struggling to get by. The max they can receive this is 5 years. Then you have programs like Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, and unemployment. Pretty much everyone receives some sort of welfare at one point in their life...even if it's stuff like federal college grants.
