You can't even recite the alphabet backwards SOBER, let alone drunk. amirite?

...I was in drivers ed, and we were doing the weird walk-on-the-line-while-wearing-drunk-goggles-thing, and this Cop was there. One of the dudes in our group was all like, "YEAH I can recite the alphabet backwards!!" The Cop then goes....,"That's......Great.......wanna cookie or something?" In a very sarcastic tone. It was Hilarious.

They probably see it as a song, or a fluid string syllables. Instead of individual things to remember, and can't remember it when not in forward list form. Like how when they give sobriety tests they have them recite, and not sing, from a random part.

The only reason I can is because I practiced a lot. Now it comes as easily as saying it forwards or in French (even though I don't speak French).

I practiced saying it backwards a lot just so i could say i was able to do it, but it doesn't even come into use so it was basically a colossal waste of time =/

I have successfully memorized the alphabet backwards and I can say it backwards when I am drunk. Just don't ask me to sing it forwards drunk. I try spelling stuff like "abcdefsuperroboxz. I forgot y. Why?! Haha I did that on purpose."
