"Dear" has lost it's original meaning and just become the generic start of a written letter, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Lol, what's a letter?
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's only lost its meaning if you let it. Ya it is an obvious way to start a letter, but then again how often does anyone write actual letters anymore.

"Fucker!" is not a complete sentence.

You know what I think? I think: cottage cheese!
by Anonymous13 years ago
it's an interjection. interjections can be used by themselves to make a sentence.
by Anonymous13 years ago
olol, you got me.

The villans I write use it. It helps increase the intimidation factor. "My dear sister" He said in a menacing voice, slowly walking towards me with his dagger raised... and all that
by Anonymous13 years ago
You could say 'my dear', or 'dearest', or some other alternative version of dear.
