+269 It was recently found out that a dinosaur skull is fossilized inside the alter of an Italian cathedral. If that isn't irony, I don't know what is, amirite?

why is that ironic

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I thought the same thing. Unless they realize that evolution is all a myth, as the cathedral is young, and dinosaurs are supposed to have died out millions of years ago.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But this cathedral was constructed out of stone mined from Swiss mountains centuries ago. The rock itself is ancient. NOTE TO EVERYONE ELSE: DO NOT START A DEBATE. THIS POST IS SUPPOSED TO BE OBSERVATIONAL HUMOR AND NOTHING ELSE.

Oh okay. That makes more sense. However, how is it ironic? Creationists don't close their eyes to dinosaurs, no matter how many times you wrongfully insist we do.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's ironic in that an object that a large group of people (myself included) see as an antithesis to the story of genesis had been embedded inside an institution that advocates creationism for hundreds of years without anyone realizing it. Please don't turn this into a conversation about evolution itself.

Dinosaurs aren't contradictory to the story of creation, but at least i understand why it's ironic.

Phew! I feel like I just diffused a 175-comment bomb!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh God, I hope the athiest/Christian extremists don't see this *scared* I have a feeling that mentioning Christians and atheists in this comment is going to start a bloody 300 comment war...

defused*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well then clearly you don't know what is ironic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I suppose from a stereotypical standpoint, its hilarious and I did in fact laugh. But for the record, Catholics aren't told not to believe in evolution.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

We're told to follow pedobear's ways.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thank you, my child.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I went to a catholic school and while we were taught the theory of evolution in science but we were told that we should still beleive in creation.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was taught to believe what I want about the topic because the church doesn't have a doctrine about it. We have to believe that God created the universe, but not that he didn't have evolution make it happen. Pope John Paul II believed in evolution.

Jesus is a dinosaur, hence Raptor Jesus.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are aware that dinosaurs were in the bible...and just cause it says "7 days" doesn't mean it was literal...the Bible is a book of metaphors and stories, that 7 days couldve meant 7 eons

You can't post a debatable post and expect no one to debate over it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And yet there hasn't been a debate....
