To a lot of people it's a very important family tradition, and I respect that, but I agree that it's overrated(to me, at least)... probably because I'm Jewish.

I'm Jewish too! Christmas is completely overrated. I mean so is Hanukkah...but at least that isn't hyped up for months... Stores don't even put up Thanksgiving stuff anymore. They just go right from halloween to x-mas.
by Anonymous13 years ago
im jewish too! christmas is SUPER annoying and WAAAAAAY overrated- they put up decorations and adveratise it in like august
by Anonymous13 years ago
h@766504 (Anonymous): What exactly do you suppose they put up for Thanksgiving? haha
by Anonymous13 years ago
I was raised in a hardcore Christian household. My dad was the pastor, and there were more Bibles in the house than people.
But after years of being under constant, yammering assault of all that, I'm atheist.
I just don't care for Christmas - and didn't when I was little, either. I like Thanksgiving and Halloween better.

(Wha+evs): I salute you.

I'm also Jewish.. and I also think Christmas is overrated. Or, perhaps I resent the fact that I'm not included in this big holiday :$ It's tough for us people who don't celebrate it... even though we also get presents... everyone wishes you Merry Christmas! and the only music you can hear is Christmas music, and you see it eeeeeeeverywhere. But we are not a part of it. And it kind of makes me bitter about Christmas at times... although I'm generally up for a little holiday cheer.

when i told my parents i'm Buddhist, the first thing they said is "well, that's one less christmas present to buy."
by Anonymous13 years ago
that reminded me of a simpsons episode
by Anonymous13 years ago
i've never watched the simpsons.. so i'll take your word for it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yes...... And no
by Anonymous13 years ago
your mom is overrated.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You can come up with something better than that :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
(Wha+evs): your mom can come up with something better than that :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
You're overrated
by Anonymous13 years ago
@766501 (anonymous): No one has ever rated either of you.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You sure told me! :P
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yep, cause 2 and a half weeks vacation and hundreds of dollars of free stuff is overrated.
by Anonymous13 years ago
this is possibly the stupidest thing i have ever read. ITS NOT FREE OF ITS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS
by Anonymous13 years ago
dumbass. they mean YOU GET FREE STUFF THAT'S WORTH HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.
by Anonymous13 years ago
but you dont just get them, u still gotta pay for them, so they're basicly not free
by Anonymous13 years ago
omfg. you aren't paying for them. you GET them as PRESENTS.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Other people pay for them... not you.
by Anonymous13 years ago
The 46 people that No Way'd this never got rheir Mystery Date games or their Oscar Meyer weenie whistles...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Be careful what you say, it's not just a commercialist holiday, it's religious.
by Anonymous13 years ago
i completely agree the commercial part of christmas is overrated, it makes everyone else feel REALLY left out, but i don't think the birth of Jesus Christ is overrated one bit.
by Anonymous13 years ago
it's over comercialized, not ovrerrated
by Anonymous13 years ago
Mr. Miller????? Hahahaha
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm dreaming of a secular christmasssss. Nuh but really I like chistmas even though I'm not christian it's very festive, and Jesus was a pretty cool guy and I don't mind celebrating his birthday (even though he wasn't born in December) and having holidays and spending time with my family.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Alright, Scrooge, so you think that millions of people celebrating, singing, decorating, giving, eating, loving, and enjoying is overrated? The Christmas tree in the window with its lights, the opening of presents by the fire, the big Christmas dinner with the whole extended family, the carol services, the holiday? I actually think the fact that the shops anticipate it for ages makes it even more exciting. If you think Christmas is overrated, you can't be doing it right x
by Anonymous13 years ago
It does occur to you that not everybody celebrates Christmas, right? I mean, as a Jew, I understand the good feeling of the season, but it's not like Christmas is the epitome of goodness, especially not considering how commercialized it is.
by Anonymous13 years ago
that is by far the lamest thing i ever heard! just because no one wants to buy you prezzies doesn't mean you gotta be dooshy about christmas! u suckk!
by Anonymous13 years ago
I love how the OP is taking so much time to respond to almost every single person insults him...hehe
by Anonymous13 years ago
Its just too secularized. It needs to stay in the Church. I'm a 15 year old Atheist and personally I think it's just become too... commercial? It doesn't have the meaning it should have, and in respect to Christians I don't think it should be this overrated and commercialized.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Probably because your Jewish! if you were Christian and got to celebrate christmas you would know why its so popular and so loved..Christmas brings a non descriable kind of happiness and everyone just seems happier on Christmas!! :)
