He babbles on and on about things that are simple and easy to understand, yet he continues ranting. He's disagreed (without knowing it) with Obama on several key issues. And he thinks raising taxes would be patriotic

It's impossible to pay off a $13.7 trillion debt without both cutting spending AND raising taxes. If we want to get rid of this shameful debt, our congressmen should man up and compromise to tame it. It would indeed be patriotic for Americans to understand simple math and acknowledge that if we don't want to go bankrupt, taxes will have to be raised. The other stuff you said is your opinion and has absolutely nothing to do with being a good Vice President.

With all due respect, your idea of raising taxes to get out of debt isn't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin getting it on. Lowering taxes increases the money a person has in their pocket, which in turn increases spending, which leads to a higher rate of productin which leads to increased jobs and a better economy. Raising taxes is socilaism at it's finest. Government spending is what causes the debt. The problem is the government thinks its entitled to your money which it isn't. If they cant function on all the money they get now, they should trim programs that aren't important. Government wasteful spending is horrible and has been for a long time.

You need to learn a few things:
A. Recent history: The idea that lowering taxes helps the economy has never worked in practice in America. Before you mention Reagan (correct me if I'm worng, but I have a suspicion that you're going to bring him up) he raised taxes multiple times while he was in office.
B. The defenition of socialism: I honestly don't know where the fuck you heard that raising taxes is socialism, but that's dead wrong. Socialism is when the government sets up safety nets where taxpayers pool a small portion of their collective wealth so that all of our citizens can have a decent minimum standard of living. Social security and medicare are semi-socialist programs which have extremely high popularity. [continued]

As I said before, it's simple math. Arithmatic is nonpartisan. It's a fact that we cannot realistically fix the defecit by just cutting spending. It's also a fact that we cannot realistically fix the defecit by just raising taxes. If we want to get a handle on the defecit, we have to do BOTH. It isn't liberal, it isn't conservative, and it isn't popular. It's MATH.

I didn't know Reagan raised taxes. I guess you really do learn something new everyday :). Hey, i'm not going to argue anymore. But I still think tax cuts promotes spending, so i haven't really been swayed. I'm just too busy with life that I can't keep arguing with everyone who disagrees with me. But I'm glad you have so much free time :)
