+232 It is stupid that if you mention Christian Rap, the first thing people think is to laugh, because they think rap means drugs, sex, booze, and jackassiness, and that Christian Rap does not exist, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Rap isn't all about that. It used to be about real life before it all got all messed up for our generation. And if you think about it, all genres have artists that talk about talk, and some that don't. Rap does too, you just don't find it on the radio.

you know whats funny? insane clown posse has christian overtones, or at least when their 6th jokers card came out-there was a version of it in which they said they they followed god and whatnot. But yeah they rap about mudering people and shit, but its usually other bad people

I have never heard Christian rap (I'm an atheist), but yeah, what DO they rap about? And are they black or white?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hahah, the only ones I know are white...

An older version of Audacity has "Christian Gangsta Rap" as a genre.

Adding "Christian" in front of another genre does not change it. Many rappers sing about God, so I don't see why you have to state the existence of it. People probably laugh because "Christian Rap" sounds ridiculous.

lecraaaae yo! <3

I read "Christian Rap" as if it were like a person or something... and then when i understood it... it reminded me of: GIVE ME THAT CHRISTIAN SIDE HUG THAT CHRISTIAN SIDE HUG, GIMME THAT CHRISTIAN SIDE HUG. THAT CHRISTIAN SIDE HUG.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

First thing I thought of, too. Anyways, you'd be surprised. I mean, Chirstian music is all over the place with bands like Flyleaf and Underoath... It's only assumed that there'd be Christian rap artists out there... (and who do it /well/)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah, i know that Christian music is pretty popular. I know Flyleaf is considered a Christian band though i know many people do not realize that... which makes me irritated. though i haven't found any remarkably great Christian Rap artists yet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because Christian rap sounds ridiculous

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, the reason people automatically laugh is because christian rap is incredibly annoying and stupid. Christian screamo is even worse. (Yes, there is a band who literally screams Bible verses at you. It also happens to be my sister's favourite band. Ugh!)

Jewish rap is where it's at.

Mhm let your tallis hang low

by Anonymous 13 years ago
