its insane how much we pay to see a movie...i mean come on $9 just to see two hours of a film, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
What! I wish it was nine dollars I pay 11.50.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Same here! Granted...its probably better then paying 30 dollars to buy it...... Well...at least if you buy it, its there for life
by Anonymous13 years ago
I remember paying $9 for an IMAX ticket to Harry Potter 3. I just paid $17.50 for an IMAX ticket to Deathly Hallows.

ITS CALLED MOVIE HOPPING!
my friends aim for 5 movies at once...insane .__.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Too bad that's called stealing...

Shut up, narc.

And you know what's ridiculous? Movies take in millions of dollars opening night and throughout the duration of time it's playing...they honestly don't need THAT much money. I bet they would make twice as much if they lowered the price to $6 on average.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Mmmm, I have to disagree there. Movies are becoming more and more expensive and each year, about 20% of a studio's movies fails to make enough money to cover the budget.
The price of concessions has to be high because most of the money a movie makes goes to the movie studio. The movie theaters themselves are hard pressed for money, even though every year the movie industry is becoming more profitable.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah, that's true. But it wouldn't be that way if everything wasn't so overpriced nowadays. What studios need to make a movie is usually more expensive than reasonable, therefore, it causes us to have to pay the price. The best solution: wait three months and Netflix it. lol

You can always wait and go to a matinee
by Anonymous7 years ago
I pay like 12-18 bucks where I live. No point even buying the food there which is double the price of the ticket. (I always sneak food in, last time I baked brownies haha)
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh man that's awesome
by Anonymous13 years ago
thats why I go to the 5 dollar special or 2.50 theater, it's not that hard to find cheap places
by Anonymous13 years ago
My theatre does $5 on Tuesdays so that's the only day I go to see movies.
by Anonymous13 years ago
thats a cool deal, yeah mine does 5 dollars from 4-6 on any movie any day, and 3D only makes it 6
by Anonymous13 years ago
in my town it's only 5. but it's such a shitty theater. so i usually go like 45 minutes away when I want to watch a movie, and there it's like 10.
by Anonymous13 years ago
We have a cheap movie place in my town--But it is so GD cold you wish the movie would end so you can get out and get warm. Even under a blanket you freeze. That is a set up for teen making out under those blankets. Even that won't warm it up
by Anonymous7 years ago
Then don't go to see it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I PAY 11 DOLLARS SO SHUT UP.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Nine? How about 13-17.....
by Anonymous13 years ago
BUT HARRY POTTER WILL TOTALLY BE WORTH IT!
by Anonymous13 years ago
I work at a theater so I get to see my movies for free! :D But it sucks having to deal with people complaining all day :( we don't make the prices!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yea wtf! I'd be heaps happy with $9! Here its like $17.50 and like $20 for 3-D and there's not much else choice because it's the only cinema around...and I am fairly sure that that cinema is raking in the dough. Cheap tuesday has tickets for like $14 though...not that that's very good either though.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Gah, I hate hearing people complaining about ticket prices. I work at a theatre and used to hear it every day, multiple times before I became projectionist. If you don't wanna pay that much to see it, wait. It's not a hard concept to grasp...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Netflix. So you have to wait for the dvd to come out, but its sure worth the wait than to pay 9 or more for a movie. Its also only 9 a month for unlimited movies. 11 for bluray option.
by Anonymous13 years ago
In our local cinema, evening tickets on certain days cost only $4 for customers under eighteen. The highest ticket price I've ever seen was $8 but that was a 3D movie.
