There needs to be more To Kill a Mockingbird posts on here... I mean, it was the ONLY book I enjoyed reading in high scchool.

by Anonymous13 years ago

by Anonymous13 years ago
Blasphemy.
by Anonymous13 years ago
it was so booooringggg. i could describe that book in 10 pages in as much detail as i got from it. Symbolism and recism and everything. Very overrated.

racism*
by Anonymous13 years ago
We should love The Outsiders!
by Anonymous13 years ago
A college english proffessor I know says the book isn't about racism. It's about growing up. It's based on the author's life growing up in the south. It's not about racism entirely. It's about life.

Whats a BAMF...Loved the book ...maybe they should make a movie
by Anonymous13 years ago
There is a movie;
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056592/
I will cry if they ever remake this, I don't care how old it is.

Damn straight he is.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm actually reading this in school right now... >.>
by Anonymous13 years ago
I just finished. Thought it was amazing! :D
by Anonymous13 years ago
Ah, lucky. We're on chapters 9-11. We're technically not supposed to read ahead, but I'm on #13. Most kids in my class are just getting the stuff from Spark Notes, and the others aren't even bothering to read it/get cliff notes at all.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Well my test was this exactly:
You had to read the exert from spark notes, and then list 6 events not stated and also list 4 characters not stated.
Proving that spark notes is not a good place to go :P
by Anonymous13 years ago
Bet about half the kids failed, huh? It'll be funny to see how many aren't actually reading the book, and thus will fail the test.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Actually she told us that we shouldn't go on spark notes because she knows about it.
all though, I am reading a book right now called "Great Expectations"- and btw it sucks- and I don't understand it at all, so I am reading spark notes to get the gist so I understand it more. That is where it can help
by Anonymous13 years ago
I believe our teacher knows about it too, but I'm not sure. She may just be letting them use it and then repaying them for not doing their work by letting them fail the test.
The way you're using Spark Notes is the way it SHOULD be used, not in place of actually reading. I mean, if the book is hard to understand, like Shakespeare or Great Expectations, then sure, use the notes. But if it's an easy book, then read the damn thing; it's not gonna kill you.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yah I know! And TKAM is not a hard book! Jeez people!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Haha me2 I'm up to the trial
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh, please don't ruin it!! Haven't gotten that far yet!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Lol ok :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
THEY ALL DIE. Just kidding :P But that's probably the best part of the whole book
by Anonymous13 years ago
Our class just began part two. We had a pop quiz on chapters 9-11 today. It was the teacher's way of making sure we read. About half the class failed it because they didn't read or used Spark Notes. Smart teacher.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I just finished it in class :D it was amazing! Haha

BAMF?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Bad ass mother fucker
by Anonymous13 years ago
YES. YES. HE'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS /EVER./
by Anonymous13 years ago
L-O-V-E. I had to do a debate on him being a realistic character or not... We were on the opposition and we won. He's really a well-written character.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Am I the only one who read this for fun outside of school? lol
by Anonymous13 years ago
Nope. Glad to see I'm not the only one, I was reading all these comments and thinking, "Does nobody read books for themselves anymore??"
by Anonymous13 years ago
I read it in 6th grade because it was around the house, but even then I liked it. I should read it again.
by Anonymous13 years ago
