+284 If female animals had their periods, all hell would break loose, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Female animals have an estrous cycle, which is the equivalent to the menstrual cycle. That's what the phrase "in heat" refers to.

haha, they do. Hence the neutering of my dog. She got all her discharge crap all over everything, it was NASTY.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

my cat got it allllll over my friends shoes one time before we got her fixed >:D

by Anonymous 13 years ago

my dog got our couch really gross :O

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Im sorry for your dog if she had testicles.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They do---it's a little different from the human's, but it's basically the same thing. It's so fun having a female dog at that time. :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol how so?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was being sarcastic, hehe. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ahem..get it fixed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That was before we got her fixed. She is now. It does cost a lot, you know...and as long as she wasn't hanging with guy dogs, it was fine until we *could* get her spayed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah cut those ovaries out of her.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Tonns of mammals do.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how the hell did so many people vote this up knowing animals DO have their version of a menstral cycle

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My cat has periods.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

then every body of water would be the "Red Sea"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Fish lay eggs, they don't have a uterine lining to lose...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Um, I'm pretty sure that all intact female mammals do menstruate. Whether they get cramps and PMS, however, is a different story.

WHEN MY GOLDFISH WAS ON HER PERIOD SHE DROWNED IN HER OWN BLOOD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They actually sell diapers for dogs and cats when that time of the month rolls around...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They don't have it monthly. My cat only goes into heat every few months.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's why I have boy kittens...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Boy cats can still have problems if they are not serialised, they spray urine everywhere to mark their territory and go wondering for females to impregnate, and will get into fights. Best to get both males and female de-sexed if you don't want crazy pets.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most mammals have estrous cycles. Higher primates like chimpanzees menstruate the way humans do. I have no idea how that works.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Please be joking.
