+368 Instead of paper and plastic plates, there need to be plates made out of something edible, like bread, so humans don't make so much trash. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, but we need something that won't absorb liquid. Like lollipops. :). Good idea, though!

Panera has a head start with the bread bowl thing...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Panera did not invent the bread bowl, FYI.

That's just the perfect solution for the obesity problem ono

Reminds me of some chain restaurant (Pizza Hut? Olive Garden?) advertising for a "pasta bread bowl." OH HEY 2000 CALORIE DINNER

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha 2000 calories? As in the total calories each normal person should eat a day?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You use a plate to hold your food an shield it from dirt. That would defeat half of the purpose of a plate if you ate it because then you would be eating dirt.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ha yeah I was about to post the same thing. The reason for plates is so our food doesn't touch surfaces... what would be the point if we ate our plates too?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well ya know, brilliant brains process similarly

by Anonymous 13 years ago

extra protein. duh. plus, it adds a little extra crunch.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wouldn't that be the point of sandwiches? I mean, they're not even that messy and it's completely possible to just walk around with a sandwich and not have to put it down. Unless it's like... a sub or something. Then you might want to eat outside.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yah, the point of the plate is so you don't eat off tables. If you eat the plate off the table, you are still eating off the table... therefore the plate wouldn't exist.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You don't have to eat it; it will be biodegradable

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahahahh do you watch channel one at your school?! and they've been talking about trash all week?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Like a bread bowl...? People would just waste it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmm. YYA only because edible also means Biodegradable which also means that it would serve the purpose of a plate and it won't harm the environment. I wouldn't suggest eating it though lol.

Am I the only one who thought of willy wonka and the chocolate factory?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not only would it cost a billion times more, but it would rot, too as well as not being reusable. There are just so many more flaws in this theory (listed above) that this idea becomes completely useless. Most people use ceramic plates of something of the sort anyway, not paper plates.

You can get potato plates.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They are working on it, I watched a documentary about edible everything plates, cups flatware.
