So give them real guns. You don't have to spend time searching for the bullet because you can't use it again anyways. Problem solved.

I don't know fingerprint test? If an 8 year old has a real gone and is carelessly shooting, chances are s/he is going to kill someone, and chances are the police will investigate who did it.

Again, they wouldn't need a fingerprint test if nobody got killed. The child could just be shooting around in an area where nobody was around.

So an 8 year old is going to get a gun for the first time ever! And s/he is going to wait until they go to a nice secluded area before trying out their new toy? I don't know how well you know kids, but they like to play with their toys as soon as they get it. Chances are they will be shooting it in the store....

...You can't actually by your kid a gun. You would have to buy one for yourself and then hand it to the child at home, where he/she is free to wreck the whole house while you hide in your bulletproof chamber in the upstairs bedroom.
