+466 It's annoying when majority of teenage girls say that they love listening to country music when they just listen to Taylor Swift. She's a pop star not a country singer, amirite?

i would like to think genre can be composed of more than one so she may be a country pop singer amirite?

Yes but the fact that some people think that they "love" country music when they only listen to Taylor Swift is a bit off considering that Taylor Swift is also pop. And I don't think they actually listened to real country singers like Tim McGraw or Tobey Keith.

Well, it's better than people listening to actual country music.

It's better than looking at your face

I would love to make a "that's not what your mom said" joke, but she was too busy with my dick to look at my face.

Have you not heard Free Bird? D: Some country is awesome.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I do say that "I love country music" and I also listen to Taylor Swift alot, but unlike alot of the other teenage girls that you mentioned I absolutely love Tobey Keith, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, and so on.

agreed.

Taylor isn't pop. She's country. Her label is country. Her band is country. She plays country. She says herself she's country. Just because you heard one of her songs with a heavy bass drum covering up the banjo on a mainstream radio station doesn't mean she's pop.

I think she is a mix of country & pop but can't be classified really as either but she has talent & seems like a nice person. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

She was country on her first album but now she is almost completely pop with a bit of country influence.

But Taylor Swift has practically a song for everything... Like when you have a crush on a boy, and when you have a crush on a boy that doesn't like you back, and when you have a crush on a boy and he dumps you, and when you have a crush on a boy and he acts like a prince, and when have a crush on a boy and he's with another girl, and when you are not sure if you have a crush on a boy because you've never felt love before, and when you have a crush on a boy and you love him so much you write songs about him.

Who dumped an extra spoonful of judgemental on your cornflakes?

It's annoying when girls say they like country music in general

It's annoying when people like you criticize other people's taste in music

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ouch, attempted insult by an anon. I'm so hurt right now

TAYLOR SWIFT IS COUNTRY! All of the labels of her albums say COUNTRY & FOLK. COUNTRY! She doesn't even sound pop! You just hear her on pop radio stations because she's great like that! Hardly anybody I know hates Taylor Swift!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why are you yelling this at me?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I happen to like Taylor Swift, and plenty of other country artists. And I still consider her country because genres can have a wide range, plus pop these days is way more electronic sounding than her music.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've never been a fan of country music. That's probably why I enjoy T. Swift on occasion. Because she's not really country.

I find it annoying when girls say they like country just because they listen to Taylor Swift. If they really liked country they'd listen to more country artists. I like Taylor Swift, but I wouldn't call myself a major country fan, I just enjoy her version of country. She's kind of gone more pop now though :/

Yes, it is annoying when people claim to like a genre merely because of one artist. But pop is not a defined genre. Pop means popular. 'pop' music is actually hip hip, rap, and various other genres. If polka were mainstream, we'd be calling that pop.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The only reason most of you think Taylor's music is more pop is because her most famous songs are pop because that's what the general audience goes for. If you listen to her less famous songs, you will see why the majority of her fans call her country. :)
