+619 Why do we inch forward slowly at a red light? It's not like it gets us to our desination any faster. "Well, I was running late, but now that I moved up 6 inches, I now have time to stop for some coffee and a danish." Amirite?

ever heard of sensors?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I haven't... But I'm too young to be driving or anything, so maybe that's why.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

maybe so.

I just get tired of keeping my foot on the brake, but I do it unconsciously when people in front of me nudge forward.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah me too. I also do it to try to anticipate when the light turns green.

I just do it because when first learning to drive with my mom, she would get mad if i wasn't close enough. So now i just kind of do it unconsciously.

WOAH. You can do it in your SLEEP?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most likely. It's pretty simple. Not that it would be SAFE. But basically anyone could move their foot in their sleep.

...I was sort of playing off of how you said "unconsciously" instead of "subconsciously".

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, don't worry. I caught that. I was sort of playing off of how you asked if I could do it in my sleep. Which I could. I was trying to play it cool and make you forget I made a mistake, but that plan is ruined..

Unconsciously does not mean you're asleep when you do it. It means you're unaware you're doing it. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=define:+unconsciously

just the fact that you said Danish made my day

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because you need to go slowly before you stop?
