+995 While we want to see realistic women and curvy ladies featured, being extremely overweight is just as bad an influence as being extremely underweight. A size 0 isn't healthy, but neither is a size 20, amirite?

Well, the thing is that models such as say, the Victoria's Secret Angels, work EXTREMELY hard to keep their figure as such. If you read any of their interviews, they eat exactly what one should be eating - many vegetables, a few fruits, and some sort of protein. Plus, they exercise to maintain tone. On top of that, their body is their natural figure - they're just built like that. Still, that being said, it would be nice to see VARIETY - That would be most realistic. I want to see more Crystal Renn's of this world. She's very beautiful and an excellent model but she's got a very average and attainable body.

I'm a size 0 but I weigh 112 pounds which is what the doctor says is the "healthy weight" for my age.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

whats your height? (sorry if you already mentioned this but i didnt feel like reading the whole conversation here haha)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am a 14 year old 5'2 weighing about 85 pounds and can just barely wair a size zero(their almost to big)and hate to break it you all but i eat like a freaking pig I promise...sometimes your just built that way. (it kinda sucks cause im only a size A due to my small frame...)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When I say that I want to see more "curvy and realistic" women, I'm not talking overweight people. But there's nothing wrong with being 130 pounds, which is what the incredibly skinny models used for EVERYTHING beautiful are basically portraying.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im 130pnds. OF MUSCLE.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

size 0 is actually healthy. so is size 10. it all depends on your lifestyle. im a size 00 but im also short. it's just that im naturally little. but i would like some variety. i dont want to see anorexic models, i want to see naturally skinny models. i dont want to see curvy models. i want to see big, yet healthy models.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When you really think about it, when you see an outfit on a model you think about how great that looks. You wouldn't think it looked as great if it was on a size 20 model or whatever so you wouldn't buy it. That's why they use skinny models, because people think clothes look better on skinny people rather than fat people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Size 0 can be healthy, and depending on how the sizing is done, size 20 can be, too. In my opinion, the best reason to have thin models is to save money on fabric when they're making the sample clothes. Why else would the samples all be like size 0? It's not that it's a common size, it's probably just cheaper to make and order. :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think size 20 can ever be healthy. Healthy people can carry some extra weight on them, but at that point it's just obesity.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Does it really matter? Size 0, size 20, everyone's built differently and it's beautiful.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not everyone is built fat tho...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's just ignorant.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why is 0 unhealthy? I'm 120 and a size 0! I do some ammature modeling but I'm also a xc/track runner so I eat a very specific diet to stay in shape. Not to mention running 14+ miles a week. Size 0 is perfectly healthy. And like Rainbow35 said, smaller model means less fabric which means less money wasted on a sample.

Victoria's Secret has to be the worst influence on girls. I'm 5' 4", 120 lb. and still feel bad whenever I see their ads. I have a very curvy body and I wish there were more models like me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A size 20 is extremely overweight? Well, fuck me! I wear size 42 pants. I don't care what men look like in whatever clothing, though. I do like my women larger. Skinny bitches are just a turn off. I don't like formless blobs, but if a chick has figure and some plumpness, I go fucking nuts. My favorite part is that a little meat on their bones comes with big ole' titties and a fat ass. Not too mention, they give better hugs. I have a bunch of smaller lady friends, and their hugs don't do anything for me, as hot as they are. However, bigger women give a nice satisfying hug.

offensive

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In what way? What are you, 12?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

16. except i dont see how age factors into this because im sure no woman of any age would appreciate being talked about like that. girls arent just ass and tits. and also im skinny and dont appreciate being considered inferiour to a fatty.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Younger people tend to get offended over little things. It may be true that women aren't just tits n' ass, but hey, it's looks that get someone interested. I don't think you can speak on behalf of all women, though. I definitely know women that like being treated aggressively and taken advantage of; not the "respect" thing. I'm sorry you think you're being considered inferior. I really can't help my personal preferences. I said I don't like skinny chicks as a fact, because I don't. You said "fatty" with the clear intention of putting us overweight people down. Maybe you should stop being a fucking hypocrite, and perhaps learn to type in proper English before responding to my comments.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

so because you're fat you're hating on skinny girls. that's becasue you know we'd never go for you...fatty. and ya im putting fat people down. who likes fat people?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm a fucking chubster that doesn't quite like skinny chicks. Can you not comprehend the difference between "not liking" and "hating on"? Apparently, you can't. I don't want you to go for me, you're a fucking bitch. Fatty or not, I've had myself a great time with women, and I know for a fact that I can turn a chick on, really well.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

okay there chubster

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My God quit bitching. I'm sixteen too and I am also thin, but you don't see me jumping down his throat just because he prefers a different type of woman.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

BTW, I should just state that I meant Australian size 0. I keep forgetting that sizing is different for the majority of Amirite users; an American women's size 00 would be an Australian women's size 2.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think when OP said size 0 isn't healthy, they meant "in general". Obviously some people are naturally that thin and it's fine for them. What's annoying is when people say someone is "curvy" when they are actually very overweight. It isn't the same thing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Some people are a healthy size 0, and some are not. I come from a family with wide hips, so I'd never fit into a size 0, even if I starved myself for years. I'm pretty sure my bones wouldn't fit into a size 0, but that's the way my body is built. Ideally, I don't know many men who prefer women that are that skinny. I'm 5'8, and a HEALTHY weight for women of my height is around 140-160 lbs. Is that fat? HELL NO. I hate how people seem to think that a woman is fat if she weighs more than 130 lbs.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm a size zero. Am I unhealthy? You can't say size zeroes are unhealthy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I used both size 0 and size 20 (meaning the Australian sizes, which are slightly different to American ones) as examples without thinking - naturally, there would be people in both sizes who are healthy. I meant this post as a half that skinny women are always critized as being "anorexic" or "too skinny", yet binge-eating and over-eating is considered disordered as well; half as saying that neither excess starvation/gorging is healthy, but, again, I realise I should have thought before giving specific sizes are examples, as a person could be a few kilos over- or under-weight, yet still having a healthy lifestyle.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ah this makes more sense now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey hey hey, Billy in da house!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Size 20 shoes, hahaha.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm 5'10 and 140 or 50-something pounds. I'm tall for a girl and I have prominent hips rather than a very small build but I'm healthy and not fat.
