Aren't there enough,"I LOVE BOOBIES" bracelets?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There aren't any of those at our school. I knew the teachers would flip out if I wore one of those bracelets, so I wore my "Save the Ta-Tas" T-Shirt. My Principal told me that four teachers complained to him first period saying that my shirt was "offensive." Then, he made me wear a shirt over it.

That's stupid. I don't like those bracelets, but I think you should at least be able to wear them.

While I don't entirely agree with your principal, I see his point. A lot of people just wear those shirts to be inappropriate, and say they're doing it to be supportive. Honestly most of what the breast cancer foundation is doing these days is capitalizing on people's emotions. They buy out foundations using "for a cure" saying it's "their thing". There's a way to be supportive without forgetting the big picture, and that's what people are doing with all this merchandise crap.

Not everyone is just being inappropriate and being like "lulz yer shirt sayz bewbs". P:

I didn't say everyone, I said a lot of people. And most people who have sentimental reasons for supporting breast cancer don't buy shirts saying, "let me touch yer bewbies" because it's tacky and completely missing the point.

I have reasons to support cancer and I have several bracelets. Lol, I don't think any shirts say that, but the whole I heart boobies thing is just a marketing scheme to spread the word to different audiences. I do agree that people who "support" it to be funny are irksome.

I'd say over 50% of my school population wears I Love Boobies braclets. (I have 3!) and a LOT of people (even teachers!) were breast cancer shirts, ranging from mildly risque to low-key.

I wish I could wear my "Stop being a Whore!" Shirt to school (It's meant to make girls think higher of themselves then a 'whore') but I won't even attempt. They'd probably send me home or something stupid like that.

What The Buck shirt?

I can still wear mine. My school is the only school in my district that hasnt ban them. :)

WHERE CAN I OBTAIN THESE GARMENTS?!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My school's not allowed to wear them... But I go to a private school so we're really not allowed to wear anything that's not our ugly uniform

I have a friend whose mother just died of breast cancer and back in eight grade, while her mother was fighting, and everyone knew, the girl wore a "save second base" t shirt to school and a teacher made her take it off. I think she could have let it slip.

Schools are rediculus these days. At my PUBLIC school I can't even wear leggings or skinnies because they are "too revealing", even when people wear them reasonable.

This is how it works: People see the I heart boobies bracelets or save the ta-tas t-shirts. People laugh at and like the shirts and bracelets. People buy the shirts and bracelets from a website or store that donates money from purchases to Breast Cancer Research. Breast cancer is all gone. YAY. :)
