+189 It's a tad bothersome how most websites have loads more Atheists than religious people, so whenever a religious debate occurs, they get all of the support. Amirite?

So Atheist are not allowed to be the majority?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not saying they're not allowed to, it can just get a little annoying how for every one religious person, there are ten Atheists ready to jump down his/her throat.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well most normal Atheist don't give a rats ass about religious groups. The ones you need to avoid are the ones that are extreme and hate every other religion. I don't hate religion but I feel the world would be better off without it, but I'm not going to enforce my beliefs on other people.

Now if only everyone else shared those views haha

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If only, but you can dream, and turn up your iPod volume.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, its the other way around in the real world and a lot more bothersome than in the internet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*on the internet.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I completely agree with twitchey. But I do hate religious people that don't believe in abortion, or hate gay people. They interfere with people's lives because of their own personal beliefs.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Lol everyone hates those people

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not everyone hates those people, some people ARE those people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This must be true, judging by the votes of this.. d

I don't like how religious people are so hated. I mean, I'm a Christian, and I will always stand up for my beliefs, but I think I'm a nice person. Yet people attack my faith all the time, completely unwarrented :/

I don't tend to participate in any of the religious debates, because I'm great with everyone having their own way of dealing with spirituality; however of those people decide to get in the way of others lives (eg: abortions, homosexuality, religious freedoms, etc) then I do have a problem with those particular people. They may have their own beliefs, but I think its stupid to force them on someone else. For example: I have two lesbian aunts, and their mother is a devout French Catholic; however, when they both came out she was extremely supportive, and even joyous. Those are the kinds of beliefs I would like to see around the world, just the simple act of acceptance.

i agree. You can believe whatever the hell you want, but the minute you start trying to push your beliefs on other people, you deserve their fist in your face. the other thing that bothers me about "religious" people is that most (not all) only believe it because they were told to, not because theyve actually thought about it and formulated their own opinions. reminds me of the christian saying that they're all lambs, and need a guide. Because most of them won't come up with their own opinions. :/

I don't think there's necessarily more atheist online than religious people, I think atheists are more willing to debate their beliefs and religious people are more likely to shrink away from confrontation. Plus, religious people can't really form a strong debate when there are so many differing opinions within the religious group about controversial issues like abortion and gay rights.

also, i think theres more atheist people on the internet because there are IRL. studies/census count you if youve been baptized, doesnt matter what you believe now -_- the other reason is cuz, like i said, christians in particular follow the beliefs because they were told to, so they wouldnt be participating in these kind of debates because they dont no as much about what theyre "believing". (<-- studies prove. atheists no more about religions as a whole then any other group. they know more about christianity then ery1 but mennonites, i want to say. and fun fact, catholics did one of the worst... :) )

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There is maybe a slight majority of active atheists on the internet but come on there is a MASSIVE Christian majority in the real world

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe it's bothersome to Atheists when there's a majority of religious people who get all of the support in an argument.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just the fact that this post is positive proves it wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It works both ways...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A Christian's job is to spread the word of God and explain the truth to the world. The way some people explain it will irk people because of their personal feelings, but the truth is that Jesus sacrificed his life for us. And once we accept him, we cannot go back to our old selves.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

there is an important difference between spreading the word and not taking no for an answer. THAT is when the atheists get annoyed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

atheists will always be seen on opinion and debate sites because we are used to arguing for our beliefs, since so much of the world around us is convinced we're wrong...
