In the original, non-Disneyfied version of Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne refers to him as Pooh. It also says in the intoduction of the book that he was named after a swan that his son (the kid Christopher Robin was based on) saw at the zoo, whose name was Pooh. So I'm gonna go with that.
