Read her other posts. I'm leaning towards the latter.

They probably wouldn't ignore you if you had a decent level of spelling and grammar.

You probably would have gotten a little sympathy if your spelling wasn't so horrendous.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Anyone else downvote solely because of spelling/grammar?

While this post was stupid, something about your comment rubbed me the wrong way :/

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I know what you mean. When your dealing with something, it's hard to believe that there could be an even more difficult experience one could be going through. And sometimes young people's problems are pushed away by older people because they beleive that once you get older, your problems are greater. "You're a kid. What do you have to worry about? Paying bills? Working? I don't think so." It's hard to measure up others' problems to our own. So when someone just brushes up your problems, you feel unimportant. It really isn't until you take in others' problems as more important than your own that you become unselfish. Your whole perspective changes so you can see the bigger picture. Yes, you are important, but there's bigger issues all around the world that affect (effect? Sorry, I'm good at getting those mixed up) not only you, not only one person, but a lot of people. Once you take on this perspective, you can truly be grateful for what you have. Lately, I've been trying to take on this perspective and everytime someone brings up a selfish issue like this, I get annoyed. That's why I wrote that comment (also because it was funny and someone didn't say it yet).

So I guess I get why it rubbed you the wrong way. Or, at least, I think I do. If not, that comment was irrelevant to this post.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, that was pretty much why. I've tried to look at the bigger picture and have sometimes succeeded, but I still can't help but get that nagging feeling hat says: yeah, your problem is bigger and worse than mine but that doesn't give you the right to brush me aside like im nothing. I know i wouldn't do that to anyone, no matter how much stress im under. Or maybe im just that kind of person :/ I really wish OP wrote this in more intelligent words. It would have sparked a really interesting discussion.

For good reason.

Sometimes I feel like I agree with you. You probably would have gotten more positive feedback if you had been more mature with the wording of your post.
