What's really sad is that it's not even on solstice- It's the morning before. The Ancient people celebrated the longest night of the year, which this year is the night of the 21st to the morning of the 22nd. The eclipse was the morning of the 21st. So, technically the eclipse was the night before solstice.

i saw it! it was so cool! i will never get that image out of my mind. I dont know about other places but for me there was this glowing green ring surrounding the moon. It looked really beautiful. The only down side is that it was a school night and i got like 3 or 4 hours of sleep, but it was still worth it! :D

It was really cool! I'm in the Southern Hemisphere so it was kind of opposite, but it was like a glowing red moon. So amazing.
