-177 If evolution was real, then why are there still monkeys and apes in the world, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You clearly haven't made any kind of effort to understand it if you think there's a contradiction there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The idea was that both humans and primates came from a single origin, that at some point split, and become two (or more) separate species.

Howdy folks, welcome to another edition of "Is this a troll?" Our featured user today is FlippinBeast128, who claims that evolution cannot be real because there are both humans and primates that currently coexist. Now, it's time to cast your vote. Is this or is this not a troll? Now, in all seriousness, I mean no offense to you if this is a question that you're unsure of. If you're actually wondering about this question, then ExquisiteCorpse pretty much got it. If you're not a troll, then it's great that you ask questions to gain knowledge. If you are, please refer to the above paragraph.

I honestly don't think it's a troll. I hear this question a LOT.

C-C-C-Combo breaker!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's like saying there is no evolution because we have dogs, but still have wolves. Idiot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wait... dogs came from wolves?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

way to not understand evolution at all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If chips are made from potatoes, then how can there still be potatoes. Hmmmm...

If education is real, why are there still morons in the world?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They're the uneducated. :P

Sorry you guys, I heard it as a joke and thought it was funny. I didn't really think about it too much and didn't know it would offend a lot of you. FYI, I believe God created humankind in His image. Also, I should have researched this topic more before I decided to make a post about it.

Are you stupid?

Uhh no actually

You probably do know this, but if you didn't, its the process of natural selection. Overtime, a random mutation broke out in an eel, insides it's DNA. This mutation changed the eel so it would produce electricity. The eel then was fit enough to survive it's selective pressures (I.E. Predators or Competition). Other eels were not fit enough to endure their enviroment. The eels with the mutation survived and reproduced while the other eels did not. The frequency of non-electric eels to electric eels changed and therefore, the electric eel, the more fit eel, is known today. In that manner, one human might be born with a mutation to produce electricity. If that trait is fit, generation after generation of humans will have an increase frequency of electric humans. This may be possible, but it would not be seen for millions of years. But, scientists are trying to find a way around genetics so one day, we might be able to produce a dinosaur out of pure genes.

This is a response to the electric eel question. The answer to the OP is that evolution is a branch system where humans, under different pressures, diverged into seperate species than monkeys and apes. It is not a linear system where only the best survive, but instead it is a survival of the fitest.
