+40 Its really annoying when people in math class say something like, "And then you 'times' that," instead of saying, "And then you 'multiply' that", amirite?

"And then you 'minus' that."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I was just gonna say that! The concepts of Subtraction and Multiplication in a sentence elude my classmates

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Minus this and plus that irk me much more.

I think it's strange that even though this post is in the positives, my comments is in the negatives, haha.

Who the hell cares!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

a lot of people care because they like to use the correct grammar. you learn things in school that you are supposed to use again.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I hate those retards!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I really don't care how they say it, I understand it either way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I always say times and not multiply. It doesn't make a difference.

agreed with anon above me

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's really annoying when snot nosed brats get pissed off at the dumbest things.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what a ridiculous thing to get annoyed at. you understand what it means, so why get all anal about it? they are pretty much synonyms.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's annoying when they say minus a number instead of negative.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They are not synonyms. One word is grammatically correct and the other is expected to be found in a second grader's vocabulary. Out in the real world, you sound like a completely ignorant idiot if you say that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My 8th grade TEACHER said that. It was very obnoxious.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Quite frankly, I find people who understand math the best usually use "multiply" and "subtract" and people who struggle with the subject more often use "times" and "minus". Food for thought

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Agreed, which I always found interesting because it seems more of a grammar error, and often times the student who are worse in math are better in English, so you would think that those students would be right.
