Except people usually can tell if I've been crying, seeing as how my eyes become all red and puffy, I'm sniffing a lot, and my face is red...

Really depends on how much you actually tell your friends what's the problem. I've got friends who will cry, sigh, and moan every day, claim nothing is wrong, and then post vague emo statuses about it on facebook. I love to help my friends, and I hate to see them cry, but it doesn't help if I don't know why.
