Do you have any idea what it takes to do what they do? These guys have to be able to think quickly, analyze a situation, and figure out what needs to be done. If they mess up, they can die. There are incredibly intelligent men and women who serve. Disregarding that, these soldiers are willing to make huge sacrifices, to the point of giving up their lives, for your wellbeing. The things that they and their families go through is incredible and they deserve a lot of respect and appreciation for that.

Actually I do mean soldiers, people who fight other people on the premise that they were told to. Maybe they think they're doing it for a good reason, always related to politics or religion, but they're basically succombing to the primal need to kill. Take Schopenhauer's will, to quickly sum up, for exemple we created love to accept the fact that we need to procreate, we invented religion to accept the fact that we do not understand everything and we created politics because we need to kill each other. It's basically animal instinct over nothing objectively moral (please spare me examples of obvious opposites which actually do not prove anything, and I am not here to discuss any war). Anyway, I only have 1000 characters, but what I summed up is what made Einstein say : "He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice."
