-101 If Jesus is the son of God, who has no genes or chromosomes, and Mary, then he could have only received 23 chromosomes, meaning he would not be formed into even a zygote. Therefore, chances are better that Jesus was just a normal guy and Mary had to come up with something quick, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

have you hear of something called a miracle dickhead??

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha you fail at life.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not gonna be the only one detecting sarcasm in this situation, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If this is the case, she was lucky her son was schizophrenic. Totally backed up her lie. :)

your loss

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Reply to "Me": I don't appreciate you calling me a dickhead, not a very Christian thing to do. And miracles aren't real. If so, prove it. And this "miracle" defies common sense and basic science.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Prove it? Alright. 3 years ago, during the winter, my grandfather stepped outside to get the paper. He slipped on a chunk of ice, fell, and cracked his head. He had a stroke a year earlier and had to be put on a blood thinner, which made him bleed easily. The doctors said that he had a very small chance of living, and even if he did survive, then he would sustain terrible brain damage. 4 weeks later, he was up and back to his normal self. If that's not a miracle, I don't know what is.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's the power of medical science. also this is hear-say so we can't honestly believe you fully

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well first off, i'm very happy for your grandfather, however im going to have to disagree with the fact that its a "miracle." To my belief, your grandfather is a medical phenomenon, and a wonder. It's hard to define what a miracle is because to many people it can be something as surviving what shouldve been a fatal injury, or to some others like making enough money to pay off that months rent, or having enough food for the winter. Each person has a different view on what a miracle is, so that's what makes it such a debatable topic.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Bahahaha that proves nothing.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm glad he's alright, but that's not a miracle. It would've been a miracle if he recovered on his own without any medical attention, but thanks to modern medicine and science (not miracles) he survived.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Jesus is historically recorded to have risen from the dead.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not sure if the bible completely qualifies as a history book...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's not just the Bible, there are primary sources.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Really? Someone was just chilling in his tomb and was like "Oh, hey Jesus. I see you're back." and then wrote it down in their diary?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There are innumerous other historical records that recall the crucifixtion of Christ. There are also over 500 eyewitness accounts of the risen Christ after his recorded death.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

examples?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

inb4 'jesus is god and therefore it just happened because it did'.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Hahaha, i like this post....and im an atheist so im not trying to go against ya here, but there's this process called parthenogenesis where fertilization occurs without a sperm. It's actually really cool, but it pretty much only happens in bees, so oh well...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Too bad Mary wasn't a bee.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That would have solved everything.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I might be wrong, but I think that has happened before in most animal species. It hasn't been scientifically proven that it has happened in humans, but it doesn't mean it's impossible.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Logic and the bible? What a good mix.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

you'd be surprised how much logic is in the bible. Perhaps you should read it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I was being serious.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No you weren't, stop lying.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The new nonsense narwhal? :o

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I believe so!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Pardon?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

no

by Anonymous 12 years ago

As was I. The basic principals listed in the Bible make perfect sense, and are what allow society to peacefully function today. 1. The Golden Rule 2. Serve others 3. all men were created equal 4. Rule of law rather than authority of man 5. religious freedom (this is an obscure one, mentioned in Timothy) 6. establishment of justice/fair trial with witness 7. importance of the traditional family 8. private property rights 9. free enterprise 10. any of the 10 commandments This is all found in different bible verses and is the sense on which our free society rests.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ok, not sure who to reply to here, but I'm tired of all this anonymous down-voting. If you disagree with me say it you silent bastards.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or...God plucked a haploid cell from Adam, his original creation and implanted it in Mary's uterus OR, he just made one himself cause he's that awesome.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Mwahahaha you people keep forgetting that God is not restricted to our silly human can's and can't's. -.-

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah because God made SURE to make Jesus fit the earthly standard... Read the bible. It says the Holy Spirit fathered Jesus.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Kind of like how the Force fathered Anakin Skywalker?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Btw Percy Jackson explains all this.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Religion+science= massive Charlie foxtrot (cluster fuck)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It all makes sense now..... science isn't real.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If I find even a shred of evidence that science could possibly be real, I will burn it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You do that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or chances are He could set your pants on fire, because you're a liar liar.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh come on OP, he's GOD! I'm sure conjuring up a few chromosomes would be easy for him. After all, this is the dude who created the universe and stuff.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Where does the bible say God has no genes or chromosmes?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

She was a one night stand... rough nightt

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is the stupidest argument against theism and the miracles of Jesus that I've ever seen.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you are a christian, as I am. It is rare that you will win an argument with someone who bases their beliefs on science. What we have is faith. And thats not something some people can understand.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't even believe in god, but this is a horrible argument.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Completely forgetting that God kinda invented chromosomes.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That seems like way to much effort to cover up a pregnancy. I mean most people just go for the "I swear I didn't do anything" excuse, but not Mary. Nooo she goes for the ol "An all-powerful being from above gave me his son to bear while I am still a virgin" one. Much more believeable

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Some people need to read The Physics Of Christianity by Frank Tipler. It's not really a "this is how it happened" book. More like "here are a bunch of scientifically sound ways this could have gone down".

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't understand why all you Atheists hate on Christianity so much.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Religion/faith and science are never a good mix. Stop trying to make one or the other seem right because they are their own independent topics. The debate has been going on for centuries. Science can explain why things happen; faith can explain where it all came from.
