+111 America doesn't have an official language, so it's dumb to get you're panties in a bunch over someone speaking Spanish, amirite?

Well then what do you say when the schools teach in English and you come from a different country and can't learn? Exactly.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

In our school district, we actually have ESL classes for Spanish speaking students.

Then you learn English. We had a girl come to America from India and she learned English. If you're going to live in a country, you should speak that country's language.

But the point is English isn't America's language. America doesn't HAVE an official language. It's a melting pot of languages and cultures and ethnicities, and I've always thought that was what was beautiful about this nation :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes it does... English is the official language.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, it's not. The U.S. doesn't have an official language on a national level.

if you live in america you should speak english enough said!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I dont mind that epople speak a different language. It's good to hold onto your customs. But I dislike how some places Require you yo learn spanish because the citizens do. (anytime i say this they call me racist...)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah you're not a racist. I feel the same way. While English may not be our nation's official language, the majority of the population speaks it, so if you move into this country you should learn it too. No one can complain that they can't communicate if they haven't tried to learn the language. If I moved to a different country to live, I would learn the language. It's not a hard concept to understand.

Well, then America should have two national languages- Spanish and English, like Canada has French and English.

America should have two national languages-Spanish and English, just like how Canada has French and English.
