Hasn't it always been about preteens "expressing themselves"? When I think of Hot Topic I think of a whiny little gothic or emo kid who thinks they're tough shit because they didn't shop at American Eagle or Abercrombie. They go on about how non-conformist they are yet they're probably being more mainstream than someone who shops at a "preppy" clothing store. Just wear your clothes and shut the fuck up.
