Very true, but which is easier to say? "Let's watch the ball drop!" or "Let's watch the ball descend slowly!"

I remember when I visited New York, I was so excited about seeing the ball that gets dropped on New Years (not the ball drop, just the ball) only to be disappointed when I'd seen how small it was. I'd imagined it to be gigantic and really exciting but, all it did was disappoint me. ^^I know at the last sentence: //that's what she said//

Yes, this was more to my point, it sounds so much more exciting than it is. But obviously I don't expect people to change what they say hah.
