It's pretty ironic when some vegetarians wear UGG/EMU boots, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
im vegan for health, not animal cruelty so i wear leather and fur too...its not so weird

That's why I said "some" :P I know some people are vegetarians only for health/they don't like the taste of meat.
by Anonymous13 years ago
What are UGGs made of?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Sheepskin.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Taking their wool isn't enough?!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Guess not :P
Just checked the tag. Genuine leather and sheepskin.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh, well now it makes sense.

It's not ironic. It'd be ironic if VEGANS did, not vegetarians.
by Anonymous13 years ago
There is only a slight difference. Some people are VERY against animal cruelty and still consume dairy products.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Sigh. That doesn't mean a vegetarian is against using animal products. Vegans are the ones who go full out--- no dairy, typically no animal products of any kind. Vegetarian simply has to do with the diet, therefore wrong terminology.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Whatever you say.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It would be ironic if the vegetarian was eating the boot.

My friend's a vegetarian, and she wears these special faux Uggs that aren't made from animal products. I know because she tells me about them //all the time//.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Tell that bitch to shut the fuck up..
by Anonymous12 years ago
I just talk about the applewood-smoked bacon I had with my breakfast that morning. It does the trick just as well. (She "converted" to vegetarianism a couple years ago.)
by Anonymous12 years ago
Sweet jesus I hate self-righteous vegetarians.

As much as I love my friend, I would love her a hell of a lot more if she weren't so damn preachy about "saving the animals". I already have six rescued pets in my house. Eating chicken every once in a while is hardly a mark on my record.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I would just tell her flat out that you don't care haha
by Anonymous12 years ago
My mum said she supports me being vegetarian but when I told her I don't wear leather she thought I was taking it 'too far'.

Good for you (you generalized, not you specific), saving the world as a vegetarian and whatever, but shut up about it. Your meat eating friends don't take every silence as an opportunity to express to you the benefits and joys of not eating tofu, kindly return the favor.
Even as someone who doesn't eat animals, it irritates the piss out of me when someone won't shut up about their diet. News flash! No one cares!
If they did, they'd ask; since they haven't, don't bring it up.
