I've been clinically diagnosed with one and am going through therapy for it, so yes, I do have a legitimate phobia
by Anonymous11 years ago
A simple vote would have said just that.

Just making it clear that I'm not the majority of people claiming they have phobias because "spiders are icky."

Phobia hipster

Anyone that hasn't been diagnosed by a professional should not NW this post.

I don't need a professional to tell me about what I fear. If I say it's my phobia, then that's that.

I see a psychologist because I can't see insects without bursting into tears.

I freak out when people smoke in a confined area with me. Like in a car with a chain smoker. To the point where ive waited for a stop sign and ran out the car.

I'm not sure if I have a phobia, but I can't stand aliens. The thought of them make me extremely uncomfortable and make me panic.

That's called racism.

I start to hyperventilate if I'm alone in a dark room. Yes, I have been diagnosed with nyctophobia.

Plot twist: OP is Jigsaw and you will be forced to face your fear in the near future.
On the off chance this is true: I'm afraid of large amounts of money and Brad Pitt.

I love you.

I've been diagnosed with a phobia of ladybugs.
by Anonymous11 years ago
My question has always been, does it have to be diagnosed to be considered a phobia? Because the term "phobia" has been so misused lately that I don't know what to think.

I've never been diagnosed, never seen a professional; all I know is that I can't breathe in a completely silent room. As long as there's some sort of white noise I'm fine though.

I'm terribly scared of throw up.

I am a tiny bit claustrophobic and have been diagnosed with podophobia, which is the fear of feet.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Its kind of embarrassing but I am terrified of butterflies and moths
by Anonymous11 years ago
I don't have any legitimate phobia, but mushrooms make me super uncomfortable. Also, I'm extremely paranoid.

I had a panic attack looking at a cave. I did not go into it, and sat down on the stairs staring at it and trying to breathe while the rest of my family went into it. Even though, my little brother says I'm "Not as claustrophobic as Dad." My dad says that also. But he went in. (Well he also had a panic attack) but he went in. That was the first time I figured there was something wrong with me (Besides depression, insomnia, and paranoia - god I'm a mess). The other time My brother wanted to go in the attic (Which was really just a crawl space around our ceiling) but refused to go in without someone else so I went also. I had another panic attack. And fell off the ladder. And bruised my elbow.
BUT AT LEAST IM NOT AS CLAUSTROPHOBIC AS DAD.

I have a phobia of needles. Even seeing one on tv gives me an anxiety attack. Immunizations for school are a nightmare, and I dread the day I have to get my blood drawn for the first time. It's scaring the shit out of me just thinking about it.
