+522 "Jack and Jill" is such a nice little children's song... until you realize it's about a boy cracking his head open. amirite?

It's actually about the fall of an heirarchy.

Yeah, well when I was in preschool I didn't know that a crown was a part of your head. So I thought it meant that he broke his crown, as in the kind that a king wears.

That's what I thought too... And Rock-A-Bye Baby is about an infant falling out of a tree, and Ring-Around-The-Rosy is about the Black Plague. Ah, nursery rhymes.

Jack and Jill signify the 18th century Louis XVI of France, who was deposed and beheaded (lost his crown), and his Queen, Marie Antoinette (who came tumbling after). The words and lyrics were made more palatable for the nursery by giving it a happy ending.

Jack and Jill went up the hill to go and have some fun, Jill soon realized she forgot her pill and now they have a son.
