+154 Being made with sea salt doesn't make the food better, it's still salt, just natural, it's sad that some companies are so unhealthy, they try to trick customers into thinking it got better for you amirite?

There has to be a difference, although I don't know if it makes it any "healthier"... it's still sodium. The reason I'm positive it's not the same as regular table salt is, when you have to soak a healing piercing, regular salt is *not* acceptable.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes it is, I am a body piercer, I would know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not a piercer, but I have lots of things pierced, and they all said TABLE SALT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPTABLE. And told me that like a million times to make sure I knew. Like, they REALLY emphasized it. I think it has to do with the iodine in table salt. So yeah, if you really are a piercer, which I doubt, then you suck.

Sure anonfag, I believe you... not the actual piercers I know irl, who actually give out little cups of sea salt for people to use until they have a chance to buy some because regular salt is not ok.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sea salt is less healthy because it lacks the iodide that table salt bears naturally.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I only get sea salt because I find it tastes better.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol, it tastes no different. If you had to pick out a sample of sea salt from a selection of unlabelled salts, you wouldn't be able to.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't know if there's truly a difference. I'm just saying *I* find it tastes better.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They don't taste different at all (table salt is 100% sodium chloride and sea salt is 99.5% sodium chloride). If *you* think it tastes better, it's because of a placebo effect and nothing else.

Yeah, thanks for telling me something I already knew.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

lol@^

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You didn't already know it. You said "I don't know if there's truly a difference." If you already knew it, you should've chosen your words more carefully. Okay bye

"Lol, it tastes no different." - Comment was made in regards to taste, not chemical composition of salts. Me: "I don't know if there's truly a difference." - Statement made in regards to your comment, about taste. "If *you* think it tastes better, it's because of a placebo effect and nothing else." - Last sentence of comment; it's made in regards to taste. Me: "Yeah, thanks for telling me something I already knew." - Statement directed towards the trend of talking about tastes. Hope I cleared up any confusion, noob.

Enjoy your sea salt, tool/douchebag/sheep. I hope it gives you hypertension.

To be fair they add ANYTHING on the label to market their products as Bio. It's amazing what people can buy.

Table salt is Sodium Chloride (NaCl), both components are natural elements therefore table salt is in fact natural, as is sea salt. Also both of those elements can be found in sea salt, it wouldn't be salt if there was not, so if sable salt was unnatural then sea salt would be as well.

Well it depends on whether or not you are talking about the real deal sea salt and not the processed crap they're trying to market as healthier. Table salt has a plethora of additives, but they do that after literally stripping it of the more than 50 trace minerals that our bodies need. Ever met a person that had a craving for salt? That is because of the minerals that would have been in salt before people started processing it and literally ruining a fantastic thing. You want real salt, look for the pinkish in color stuff, and since it does contain more of the trace minerals and zero additives, it is in fact a healthier choice and you may even find your desire for salt decrease as you body and brain receives the proper nourishment it was meant to. Of course, I am crazy, so don't believe me if you want.
