I laughed. And I didn't think it was chauvinistic at all, especially because the OP recognized the "skin" as a woman, and not "useless meat", or anything else in the "pointless and unecessary" category. :) If he really wanted to sound like a jerk, he would've said something like "hey guys! what do you call a woman's brain?" and the punchline would be something like "non-existant!" or "useless meat!" or "a transplant!"
